After the grand success of past Seven editions of FICTA Conference under Springer AISC series, it is a matter of pleasure and pride to announce the Eighth edition of International Conference on Frontiers of Intelligent Computing: Theory and Applications, FICTA 2020, being jointly organised by the School of Management and the Department of Information Technology, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal from January 4-5, 2020.

The 2020 International Conference on Frontiers of Intelligent Computing: Theory and Applications (FICTA)

aims to bring together researchers, scientists, engineers, students and practitioners to exchange and share their theories methodologies, new ideas, experiences, application in all areas of intelligent computing theories, methodologies and its applications. The theme of FICTA conference series focuses on the domain of intelligent computing theories and the application to Computer and Management sciences. All accepted and registered papers under this conference will be published in Springer, Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing (AISC) series (confirmed). Now indexed by: ISI Proceedings, DBLP, Ulrich’s, EI Compendex, SCOPUS, Zentralblatt Math, MetaPress, Springerlink.

National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), formerly known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), also known as NITK Surathkal, is a public engineering university at Surathkal, Mangalore. It was founded in 1960 and is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.

NITK is located on the scenic shores of the Arabian Sea, about 20KM north of Mangalore and is well connected by Air, Rail and Road. The 300 acre campus is located on National Highway 66, by the shores of Arabian Sea. It has a private beach, including a lighthouse. The institute has its own technology startup incubator named STEP (Science & Technology Entrepreneurs Park) which provides office space and seed funds to startups incubated there. Some notable startups founded by alumni and students of NITK Surathkal are Quest Global, Practo Health, Delhivery, DriveU, Nestaway, Taxi For Sure, Chai Point etc.

NITK has carved a niche for itself among the best technical institutes in India and is consistently ranked among the top 10 technological institutes as per NIRF and other ranking schemes. NITK is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee during the year 2019-2020 and FICTA 2020 is organised as part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of NITK Surathkal.
